This new bow hunting farm that is owned by Marius Nelson and run by his son Shane is an oasis in the middle of the Karoo veldt. The farm is ideal for walk and stalk, but there are hides available for those that want to utilize them. The typical vegetation is spek boom a very soft and succulent plant. This is ideal for walk and stalk as it makes very little noise when brushed against. One can also stand in it without making any noise. The farm is 600 hectares in size and you are dropped off by Marius or Shane and collected again at a predetermined time. There is plenty of game and this is one farm that you will get your trophy duiker or steenbok. There are also warhog, impala, gemsbok and Blesbuck available amongst other things. You can also arrange for a bush pig hunt, but this must be done by prior arrangement.

Koedoes Poort Safari’s is 1½ hour’s drive from Port Elizabeth and 50min. from Uitenhage in the Glenconnor district. This exclusive bow hunting farm gives the hunter the opportunity to enjoy the Valley Bush veldt or open veldt while “walk and stalking” his prey. Or one can just sit at one of the water holes or use one of the hides available.
3 Chalets (each sleeps 3) and 2 Wooden Cabins (double bed) are available with braai & kitchen facilities and a big sparkling pool to relax in.
Spouses and those that just want to come for the beautiful scenery and enjoyable atmosphere are most welcome.

There is a target butt on level terrain, where you first prove you can aim, before going to war in the veldt. This is not a broad head butt so if you insist of shooting fixed blades please bring along a broad head butt so as not to destroy the owners equipment.
The kitchen is a wooden hut that is warm and well thought out. All the cooking utensils that you will need are there. Marius has a great habit of been there before you are up with a hot kettle or water ready for your early morning cup of coffee.
At the main house are the cool rooms and slaughtering facilities. There is clean running water, enough hooks and even a pulley arrangement for the heavy lifting. The local farm hands are quite good capers if you prefer not to get your hands sticky. The cold rooms are large and temperature controlled so your meat will be perfect when you leave.

The great hospitality and excellent accommodation are but small aspects of been on this farm. The hunting is great and walk and stalk is a must on this farm. Marius has gone out of his way to accommodate the bow hunters and it is worth your while to make the trip. The accommodation and day fees are affordable and the animal prices are also fair. All in all this is a great venue.
